| | From Bob Schulties, your About Today Editor I wish there was a way to get new stuff without having to start a new school year. [Ed note: We went over this, it's called a birthday. Bob note: I'm not buying this birth day you speak of.] | | Video: Going Clothes Shopping Specifically, this is about taking kids back-to-school shopping. Here's what I'm going to do: "Who wants a new iPad?" Them: "Me, me, me, me!" Look around with sad face. "Oh, look, they're out of stock. Forever. Let's get sneakers and jeans." | Lunchtime! And How to Make it Better I dread making the lunches. After Little Bob declared his hatred of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, I made him a tuna fish sandwich. He came home angry and yelled at me with the saltiest language you ever did hear! "Arrr!" he said. "This sandwich be not fit to run up me mizzenmast!" I don't even want to tell you where he pointed as he said that. I guess I'll have to do better. | Making New Friends at School The last time I tried to make a new friend, it didn't work out. My friend simply didn't understand what the problem was. I mean, "Whose Ring Ding was that?" (Yours) "Whose permission should you have asked before eating it?" (Yours) "And whose fault that you ate it anyway?" (Yours) | Organizing a Desk Clearly the best part of school starting is the fresh supplies. Unchewed pencils that have all their erasers. Fresh notebooks that don't have doodles on them. A new backpack. Oh, yes! I've never outgrown buying a new bag for myself. Next up, a new desk. | | | | Related Searches | | | | Featured Articles | | | | | | Sign up for more free newsletters on your favorite topics | | | | You are receiving this newsletter because you subscribed to the About.com Today newsletter.
