It only took four tries, but I think I'm getting the hang of it.
| | If you've ever completed a month of Whole30, you know that by the last day, you never want to look at an egg, a potato, or a piece of chicken ever again. Since there are so many restrictions on what you can eat, it can feel like you're eating the same meals over and over again, which is incredibly boring.
But finally, one my fourth Whole30, I have cracked the code on how to make delicious and compliant meals all month long: cook as much as you possibly can in the Air Fryer. I know that wasn't exactly the tip you were expecting, but hear me out. Instead of preheating the oven to cook another round of chicken and vegetables, you can pop the exact same meal in the Air Fryer, and 20 minutes later, you have a perfectly cooked, complaint meal that has both texture and flavor—two factors that are vitally important to my enjoyment of any food.
I crave snacks while on Whole30, but oven-roasted potatoes without butter just don't hit the spot the same way. When I slice them up, coat them in a little oil, and pop them in the Air Fryer, I'm a few minutes away from potatoes that are so close to being the french fries I wish they would be! Air Fryer potatoes in the form of hash browns also make a great breakfast, paired with Air Fryer bacon (just watch the preservatives!).
No, you can't make everything in the Air Fryer, but it can revive a lot of your usual meals by bringing all of the texture without having to coat everything in oil like you would in the oven. It is my Whole30 secret weapon, and I'm sure once this month is over it will become my everyday kitchen staple. Plus, I look forward to trying these air fryer onion rings!
