About

From Bob Schulties, your About Today Editor
I'm often amazed at things. Sometimes it's ideas, but it's also the physical things: tall buildings, fast planes, teeny-tiny computers. I'll just sit alone, reading and marveling at these things, wondering how people made them all. Then my daughter comes up and hugs me goodnight and says, "I love you, daddy!" and skips off to bed. Then I remember, not that long ago, she didn't even exist. How'd I do that? [Ed note: Aw. Mrs Bob note: HELLO?!]

How Are Skyscrapers Made?
The last time I was in a really, really tall building, I just laid on the floor, far from the windows. I'm not so good with heights. I don't even like jumping.

Why Is That So Big/Small/Short/Tall?
Optical illusions only work for a little while. I told Mrs. Bob I'm 150 pounds, but when I put on the pants she bought me, I passed out because all the blood pooled in my upper half. And she said, "What a weird illusion, your lips are all blue."

How Do Erasers Work?
I hope this doesn't sound nuts, but where does everything go? I know it doesn't disappear, but it's just the eraser that's left over. Where's the pencil? And, anyway, yes, I shot 1 under par.
